Something not working?

Curacast runs on your hardware, so we can't look at your server — which means the detail you send us is the whole diagnosis. Here's what helps.

Email us

[email protected]

We answer within one business day. Include the following and we'll usually solve it on the first reply rather than the third:

  • Your platform — Unraid, Synology, TrueNAS, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • The Curacast version, from Settings → Version
  • Which media server, and whether it's on the same machine
  • What you expected, and what happened instead
  • Anything from the logs around the time it went wrong

First

Try these — they cover most of it.

My licence key hasn't arrived

Check your spam folder first — it comes from [email protected], which is a domain you've never had mail from before, so filters are suspicious of it. If it's genuinely not there after ten minutes, email us with the address you paid with and we'll resend it.

My key won't activate

Activation needs to reach license.curacast.tv once. If your server blocks outbound HTTPS, or is behind a proxy that intercepts certificates, it will fail. Every later check is offline — this is the only moment it needs the internet.

A key covers one installation. If you've moved to new hardware, release the old seat from Settings → Licence, or use the key on its own to release it if that machine is gone.

Plex can't find my channels

Most likely: the tuner has to be added by hand, and the address needs its key. A new installation protects its streams, and Curacast announces itself at the unprotected address — so Plex's automatic search is refused and finds nothing.

Go to Settings → Protected streaming in Curacast and copy the tuner address shown there. It looks like http://YOUR-SERVER-IP:8000/s/YOUR-KEY/. Then in Plex: Settings → Live TV & DVR → Set up DVR → Don't see your device? and paste it. The plain YOUR-SERVER-IP:8000 address answers Forbidden — that is the protection working, not a fault.

If you have turned protection off, Plex can find it over SSDP, but only when both are on the same network segment. In Docker that usually means the container needs host networking, or Plex won't see the broadcast.

Channels exist but nothing plays

Almost always FFmpeg. Check Settings → FFmpeg — the path must point at a real binary, and if you've selected hardware encoding, that encoder has to exist in your build. Switch to software encoding to confirm that's the cause.

If playback stopped working after your trial ended, the channel will say so on screen rather than failing silently.

I lost my licence key

We store keys only as a one-way hash, so we genuinely cannot look yours up — that's deliberate, and it's why the email says to keep it. Email us from the address you bought with and we'll issue a replacement.

I want to cancel

Manage or cancel your subscription at app.link.com, where your order lives. Cancelling stops the renewal; your channels keep working until the current period ends.
